2018-2019 Kindergarten Registration


Fairview South is excited to welcome our new Kindergarteners in the 2018-2019 school year. Registration takes place between 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM on:

  • Wednesday, February 21, 2018
  • Tuesday, February 27, 2019

(No appointment necessary)

Please bring the following documents with you:
A certified copy of your child’s the birth certificate. -
Illinois School Code states that your child must be 5 years old by September 1, 2018.

One current (within 30 days) proof of residency in each of 3 categories:

Category A: real estate tax bill; signed lease & letter of verification from landlord; mortgage document/payment book; residency Attestation; military housing letter; Section 8 letter

Category B: Utility bill (gas, electric, water/sewer, cable)

Category C: Public aid card; Medicaid card; food stamp card; credit card statement; voter registration card; home/car insurance; bank statement

Please know, children will not be considered enrolled until residency documentation is verified, all forms are submitted, and district fees are paid.

Please attend either of the registration days with the appropriate residency information, your child's birth certificate, and a check or cash prepared to pay the following fees:
Class Fee: $30.00
Technology Fee: $40.00
Transportation Fee: $25.00 (only required if a student is eligible for bus services) Click here for more information about transportation.

Other Important Dates
 

    • Kindergarten Parent Orientation: April 26, 2018, from 6:00-6:45 in the Learning Center located at the front of Fairview South School. Signs will be posted outside to indicate the appropriate entrance. 

    • Kindergarten Screening:

      • June 1, 2018: 9:15-2:30

      • June 4, 2018: 9:15-2:30

    • Each appointment is about 45 minutes. The students will meet with the current Kindergarten team and will be asked to participate in a variety of activities to determine readiness. Parents are welcome to stay at Fairview during your child’s appointment time.
